When the pH of swimming pool water is too high, the water is alkaline and chlorine is unable to do its job. Simply dissolve Pool Boss pH dry acid in water in a plastic bucket, and pour slowly into pool water while walking around the pool to restore pH levels to the normal range of 7.2 to 7.6. pH Down will also lower the total alkalinity.
